Some general facts about "Deutsche Burse"
Our hostel has 84 simple rooms which nevertheless provide all necessary furnishing. The rooms are exclusively for male students! Sizes range from 10 to 14 square meters and rents are 183 to 277 Euro respectively. Besides the self-evident sanitary facilities and a small kitchen on each floor all inhabitants can use a TV-room, a newspaper study and a small gym.
The building is located in the center of Schwabing with all necessary shops and facilities nearby. The main campus of both LMU and TUM are in walking distance (15-20 minutes), also the underground to the new TUM campus in Garching is only 500 meters away.
The hostel was founded and is run by members of the catholic fraternity Vandalia also located in the building. That does not imply that all inhabitants are members of the fraternity nor that only catholic students will be accepted. But if you have a generall aversion against fraternities you might be better of at another place. The board of the society Deutsche Burse consists of members of the fraternity who work voluntarily. The society is a non-profit organisation; the rents are solely used to cover the expenses.
