KDStV Vandalia
History
On the 10th of February 1953 members of the catholic fraternity Vandalia founded a society for the construction of a student hostel. In the following months a home for 90 students was erected at Friedrichstraße 34 in Munich. This part of the building, known as the "old building", is situated at Friedrichstraße.
In 1968 the building was enlarged by a one-story wing in the courtyard, which is now the home of the fraternity Vandalia.
Finally in 1975 several new floors were added to the new wing, now called the "new building", to its present-day size accommodating 20 new rooms.
Summary
The student hostel Deutsche Burse has been closely linked to the fraternity Vandalia from the very beginning. Accordingly we expect our inhabitants to be open-minded about the ideas behind Vandalia. However, it is not obligatory to become a member.
